In its first full calendar year, 2 Fools Cider & Taproom is rocking!! Our sales and customer base are showing strong growth and we expect continued growth year over year. Over the next several months, we are planning an expansion that includes significant taproom and cider-house upgrades. 2 Fools Cider is also actively involved in several festivals, community and charitable events, and our desire is to continue to pursue those relationships and increase our standard of giving.
The heart and soul of 2 Fools Cider is our taproom culture. Our Naperville taproom is the primary vehicle for people to experience our ciders. Because of this, providing an incredible craft cider experience is essential – from the service they receive, the ciders, music, and food trucks they enjoy, to the space they drink it in. As we’ve grown, we’ve discovered the need for a taproom manager.
The taproom manager will be responsible for all aspects of the taproom operations. Position description ensures that all of our customers have the best possible experience in the tap room. Strive to delight customers with our compelling culture, spirit and unique customer experience. Makes certain that our taproom employees educate our customers about our craft ciders and the craft industry through tastings and personal attention. Promotes and sells 2 Fools Cider merchandise. Be a brand ambassador for 2 Fools Cider and the craft industry. Maintaining a clean, friendly, & welcoming environment for our guests at all times.
Managing our taproom employees and create their schedules. Serving cider according to 2 Fools Cider Company standards. Be BASSET certified. Develop and lead a cider server training program and additional learning opportunities for current staff and new hires. Finding, interviewing, hiring and firing of Taproom employees. Direct sales via point of sales & point of sale software (Square). You will be required to open and close the tasting room many days of the week.
Improve company financial health by staffing the taproom appropriately, minimizing waste and making sure Taproom staff are fulfilling all their responsibilities, as well as arriving and departing at the appropriate times. Managing and assisting with the planning of special events and team building opportunities in tandem with the sales and management staff(s). Manage retail sales of to-go cider, merchandise, as well as implement a food & music program utilizing area musicians and food trucks. Implement and maintain an inventory for all items that need to be re-ordered (growlers, stickers, glassware, t-shirts, etc.). Create standard operating procedures for re-ordering. Do the actual re-ordering of taproom products and merchandise when necessary. Quality control: taste cider taps daily to assure the highest degree of quality is maintained. Cleaning and other general duties. Report weekly operations to the ownership. Have knowledge of cider, the cider making process and/or the cider industry
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent customer service skills & excellent multi-tasking skills
Strong vocal leadership and team building skills
Able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
The ability to lift 150 pounds (full kegs) on occasion and up to 35 pounds routinely
The ability to move kegs and operate hand truck
Clean criminal record
Degree: High school diploma minimum
5+ years in customer service (craft beverage industry preferred)
Hours: this position will require a totally open availability and involves working nights, weekends and holidays
Compensation: Hourly to start with salary based on experience after 90 day review
